Thanks to artificial intelligence, Barbie may soon be way more than just a doll. Mattel has teamed up with ToyTalk to transform the plastic toy into a girl with the personality and conversational abilities to make her the “perfect friend.” Barbie will have more than 8,000 lines of dialogue at her disposal that have been mapped out according to conversations that creators think kids might have with the doll, including bullying, jealousy, and God. Barbie will also be able to remember information from previous conversations to bring up later. Some are worried that because children can’t distinguish between artificial intelligence and actual human life as well as adults can. “Children will engage not just socially but morally with these robots,” University of Washington psychology professor Peter Kahn told the New York Times. Mattel’s original release date was set for November 2015, but, as of February, Barbie’s script had not yet been written.
A Florida woman was collared this week after she used a pooper scooper to attack her boyfriend.
Police say 27-year-old Megan Smith got into an early morning argument with her live-in boyfriend, Alexander Buck, and after the two barked at each other, she picked up the scooper and hit him in the face with it multiple times. Buck's glasses were knocked off his face and he suffered abrasions to his forehead.
Smith was arrested for battery and released on $500 bond.

A high school football team in Illinois is pretty much ready for the season, but there's just one small problem with their field -- it's gone.
It turns out the St. Edward’s High School groundskeeper had a little trouble differentiating between fertilizer and weed killer, so instead of having a lush, green field for the season opener, the team will be playing on 100 yards of dirt. Well, there is some grass on the field, but that'll be gone after the first cleat digs into it.
The team is considering moving its games to a nearby turf field, which they might want to do. Especially if rain is in the forecast on game day.

A homeowner captured video of a cat food-swiping raccoon alerting her to the empty bowl by using a rock to bang on a sliding glass door. The video, uploaded to YouTube, features the raccoon using a rock to bang on the glass after finishing off the food the homeowner left out for her cat. The uploader said the raccoon, dubbed Rocksy, lives in her yard and will regularly steal the cat food and bang on the glass door until the food is refilled. “This silly raccoon has figured out that after she has raided the cat food bowl and it is empty… that she will just knock on the door… FOR HOURS…. until I refill it! It is hysterical! She is adorable and has lived in my yard for years… not sure how she figured out how to knock… but it certainly works!” the uploader wrote in the video’s description.
