A Florida man thought he was pretty clever when he ripped off a 7-Eleven store, but his silly stunt has landed him behind bars.

Police say they received a 911 call from Gregory Zopff, who claimed that 7-Eleven refused to give him the items he bought.

When a deputy arrived at the store, the manager explained the situation. He said Zopff brought a bottle of soda and a package of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups up to the counter and informed the cashier that the sheriff told him he didn't have to pay for it. So he grabbed his items and left. Another employee then ran outside to catch him and took back the stolen items. Officers caught him a short while later hanging out in a Winn-Dixie parking lot and charged him with retail theft.

Brian Williams has issued an apology to viewers and colleagues following the announcement that he's been removed as host of the NBC Nightly News.

Williams, who is serving a six-month suspension for fabricating stories, is being moved over to MSNBC as Lester Holt takes over theNightly News anchor chair. Williams apologized yesterday in a statement saying, "I'm sorry. I said things that weren't true. I let down my NBC colleagues and our viewers, and I'm determined to earn back their trust." He adds, "I will greatly miss working with the team on Nightly News, but I know the broadcast will be in excellent hands with Lester Holt as anchor. I will support him 100% as he has always supported me. I am grateful for the chance to return to covering the news. My new role will allow me to focus on important issues and events in our country and around the world, and I look forward to it." (Variety)

Williams sat down with Matt Lauer for an interview which aired this morning on the Today show. He said the last five months of his life have been torture and admits that his ego was the driving force behind embellishing his stories. But he insists that he's had enough time to correct his internal problems and he's prepared to move forward following "new rules of the road."

Scott Baio has revealed that his wife, Renee, is battling a brain tumor and is asking fans for their prayers.

Baio wrote on Facebook, "Just a few days ago we learned my wife, Renee has a meningioma brain tumor. Although 90% of these type of tumors are benign they can cause serious problems depending on the size of the tumor and the location. We are waiting to learn the exact location to see if its operable.” He adds, "My wife is my rock. She refuses to even shed one tear, nor will she question God’s will. Renee, Bailey and I will get through this and along the way maybe help educate others to get checked out (MRI with contrast) as 6500 people each year, mostly women get these tumors.” The 54-year-old actor and his wife have been married seven years and have a seven-year-old daughter.

Two escaped killers are still on the loose nearly two weeks after breaking out of an upstate New York prison and one film company believes there's enough interest in the story to begin working on a show about it.

Johnson Production Group says it's going to start filming a show that chronicles the escape of Richard Matt and David Sweat, the subsequent manhunt and, if they're caught, the capture too. And the story will be told from the point-of-view of Joyce Mitchell, the prison employee who is accused of helping the inmates escape. The company believes they can have it all done in five months and hope to put it out on Lifetime.

A pin-head in Florida bowled investigators over with a stupid plot to destroy his home -- with a bomb made from a bowling ball.

Tyler Butler was angry that he was set to lose his house to foreclosure, so he hatched a plan to burn it to the ground by lighting small fires around the place, then setting a gunpowder-filled bowling ball in the midst of the flames. A number of neighbors called 911 to report smoke and flames, and firefighters managed to douse the blazes before any major damage was done.

Witnesses told deputies that before the fire, Butler said "he wasn't gonna leave the house he [used] to live in, that he would burn it down." Butler, who lingered near the home to watch his handiwork, admitted to crafting the explosive out of the bowling ball and a fuse made of rope.

Lamar Odom's best friend Jamie Sangouthai did not die from a drug overdose, which had been widely speculated, but his death was the result of his drug use.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump made his first campaign stop yesterday in New Hampshire to talk about his plans for dealing with ISIS, China and Mexico, but it was his famous golden comb-over that received the most attention.

Trump fielded questions from the crowd about his golden coif and at one point even allowed a woman to come up and touch it to see that it's real. The hair-touching came after Trump told the crowd, "I really am very smart and I'm very good at business and I can make this country so rich. Maybe people don't like my style. Maybe they don't like my hair, which is real, by the way."

Emily Kinney and Norman Reedus never got to hook up on The Walking Dead, but they're making up for that in real life.

According to Us Weekly, the former co-stars are "seeing each other." A source says, "They had a connection early on in the show, but the romance developed recently. They're still pretty guarded about it."

Reedus, who plays Daryl, was recently spotted at one of Emily's music concerts. An eyewitness tells the magazine that fans got excited about the prospect of an affair. "For some time everyone wanted two of the most beloved Walking Dead characters to be together, but of course, Beth was killed off."

The magazine says the two kept in touch through texts and fan conventions after Emily left the show last year.

For the record, he's 46 and she's 29.

Joey Martin Feek of the duo Joey and Rory is once again battling cancer.

After declaring her cancer-free after last year's bout with an aggressive form of cervical cancer, doctors found that the tumor has returned. Joey had not been feeling well over the last few months.

She's got six weeks of chemotherapy and radiation ahead of her. Her husband Rory writes in his blog, "God has a plan, and His plan is our plan. Each day that we’re given is a beautiful gift from Him to us. And while we will pray each day for a miracle, we’re gonna live each day as if it’s a miracle. And it is."

A Florida man learned it's true that when you snooze, you lose -- after losing his freedom for breaking into a convenience store, then lying down for a nap right across the street!

Police were dispatched to investigate an alarm at the Sunrise Food Mart, and found the front window had been shattered by a large concrete waste bin -- then noticed Dave Toliver sprawled on the ground just a few hundred feet away. When the deputies approached Toliver, they found him carrying several items that matched what looked to be missing from the store -- including several packs of cigarettes, a lighter, a sandwich and a soda pop.

The store owner, who was also summoned to the scene, looked at his surveillance video and told deputies that Toliver had been to the store the day before trying to purchase the same items, only to have his credit card declined.

Last Friday  John Stamos (who played everyone's favorite uncle in the show Full House) was arrested in Beverly Hills for suspicion of DUI. He was not given a field sobriety test on scene because he was transported to a local hospital to be checked out for a potential "medical issue". While at the hospital his blood alcohol level was checked and it was determined that he was intoxicated while driving and was placed under arrest. Stamos has been in the news quite a bit over the last several weeks but for more positive news involving his new shows on Netflix and a new Fox series starting later this year. Stamos is scheduled for a Sept. 11th court date in Los Angeles.

Little Women: LA star Traci Harrison will not be returning for the third season of the Lifetime show because she and her husband Erik Tsou are expecting their first child.

The couple had been trying for a long time to get pregnant, and after two miscarriages and other setbacks, were told their chances of having a baby without a surrogate pregnant would be unlikely. But then Traci ended up getting pregnant the traditional way and she's said to be four months along. And she's said to be carrying an average sized baby boy which is rare when both parents have the dwarfism gene. The pregnancy is considered high-risk, so the couple has decided to make it their top priority and leave the show for the time being.

Ryan posted a photo on Instagram of the restraining order, which claimed he was also abusive. “This isn’t something I’d wish on anyone,” he wrote. “When I read it was disgusted. Bash me all you want, say whatever it is about me -- just remember this board don’t break for nada. Why I posted this will be thoroughly explained when the times right. #CheckMate.”

Kip Moore is 99 percent sure that he'll settle down and be married by the time he's 40. That gives him five years to find the future Mrs. Moore.

But if his romantic history indicates anything, she'd have to be one special girl to make him change his loner ways. Kip tells Glamour, "I’ve had some amazing people in my life that have really changed my outlook on a lot of things... Sometimes it’s hard for me to understand myself, to be honest. I’m aloof and so driven by what I’ve tried to accomplish with this. At times, I’ve wanted to disappear and surf and be by myself, so it’s hard for me to juggle all that."

But if Shania Twain ever became available, there would be no stopping him. "That’s my woman. I've never met her, but I will one day. We’re supposed to meet."

Talk backstage at the CMA Music Festival on Sunday night was all about Keith Urban’s new 'do. In case you missed it, Keith shaved the right side of his head -- a la Kelly Clarkson. But with most of his hair still intact, the new undercut is barely noticeable.

A woman in Spain figures her financial future will be bright, since she claims to have exclusive rights to sell the hottest item out there -- the actual sun.

Maria Angeles Duran placed a series of posts on eBay offering to sell one square meter -- roughly ten square feet -- of the sun to anyone willing to send her a payment. She got more than 600 takers before the site stepped in to shut her down for fraud, but she produced paperwork proving that she actually owns the glowing orb in the sky -- which she registered locally in Vigo, Spain, where she lived about a year ago.

Duran filed the paperwork clear back in 2010 and sold several thousand dollars worth of parcels before eBay nixed the deal -- but still charged her commission, which she's demanding the company return. She says she's not a scammer -- and plans to sell off the sun bit by bit before dividing 80 percent of the profits across Spain, donating 10 percent to end world hunger, and keeping 10 percent for her trouble.
