Colter Pierce says he didn't come up with the idea simply to chat with Taylor -- he wanted to teach the world history class a lesson about celebrity and how it impacts today's society. Sophomore Ike Stoner hatched the plan as something of a joke, saying, "I just wanted to see if I could get more followers on Twitter," but the kids and Pierce drew up a contract and set it in stone by sharing it over social media.
Taylor has two weeks to make a slew of kids very, very happy -- or very, very disappointed.
The following night, she'll sing her latest hit, "Little Toy Guys," at the CMT Awards -- where she's up for five trophies. She'll cap off the week with a performance on June 13th during the nightly concerts at Nashville's LP Field.
Carrie won season four of American Idol in June 2005.
