Massachusetts cops stepped up to the plate to bust a couple of dumb crooks -- after they left an imprint of their getaway car's license plate in the snow at one of their crime scenes.
Officers tracked down Robert Beaucaire and Amy Peters after running the plate through the system and finding that it was registered to their Chevrolet Avalanche -- a vehicle that had been spotted at several break-in sites in the area. After getting a warrant to search their motel room, deputies found more than 300 items that had been reported stolen, including electronics, jewelry, religious items and cash -- more than $10,000 worth of stuff in all. They were charged with breaking and entering, larceny over $250 and receiving stolen property.
So thanks to those plates, authorities can dish out justice in this case.
