Two women narrowly avoided charges of "batter-y" after they began brawling over a waffle at a hotel breakfast buffet in Michigan.
The dispute started when the pair, who were dining with separate groups, came up to the waffle station at the same time and began bickering over who should go first. They couldn't iron out their grievances, so their friends began getting involved in the skirmish one by one -- until more than two dozen people were in on the action.
Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole, who was sent to the America's Best Value Inn, said, "It sounded like one lady walked up and asked the other lady if she was in line for the waffle maker. She didn't answer, so this lady started to make her waffle. The other confronted her and said, 'That was my waffle' and the other lady said, 'No, it's mine,' and then it went down hill from there."
All 30 people involved in the fracas were asked to leave the hotel.
