Curiosity killed the cat, and now a Colorado man understands exactly what that proverb means.
34-year-old Adam Hirtle was sitting in his garage on Wednesday, alone with his thoughts, when he began to wonder what it would feel like to get shot. So he shot himself -- in the foot. According to the police reports, "he wanted to know what it felt like to be shot. He took his boot off and shot it, then placed his boot back on his foot and then intentionally shot himself in the foot."
Hirtle took himself to the hospital, where he received treatment for his non-life-threatening injury. And adding insult to injury, police have charged him with prohibited use of weapons and reckless endangerment.
