Mel Gibson has denied shoving a photographer during an alleged altercation last week. The 59-year-old actor issued a statement through his rep after The Daily Telegraph employee claimed Gibson pushed her as she snapped pictures of the star and rumored new girlfriend Rosalind Ross in Sydney. “He was spitting in my face as he was yelling at me, calling me a dog, saying I’m not even a human being and I will go to hell,” Kristi Miller claimed.
“He swore and called me a [expletive]. It was nonstop; he didn’t even breathe.” Miller alleged Gibson “shoved” her while her back was turned, and said she feared “he was going to punch [her] in the face.” Ross, 24, reportedly intervened and apologized before leading the actor away. The incident was reported to police. “Basically Mr. Gibson and his friend were being harassed by this photographer and he asked her repeatedly to stop, which she did not,” Gibson’s rep said. “There was never any physical contact whatsoever and the story being told by her is a complete fabrication of the truth.” Gibson is in Australia to begin pre-production on his new directorial effort, the World War II movie “Hacksaw Ridge” starring Andrew Garfield.

Following in the footsteps of its sister show, “Fear the Walking Dead” is already a ratings hit. The spin-off to AMC’s “The Walking Dead” racked up 10.1 million total viewers and 6.3 million in 18-49 demo in its Sunday debut. The new show now ranks No. 1 as the most watched series premiere in cable history. It broke the record previously held by “Better Call Saul” (also a spin-off to AMC’s hit “Breaking Bad”), which debuted to 6.9 million viewers earlier this year. “The Walking Dead,” which first set a high bar for AMC, debuted to 5.35 million viewers back in 2010. The zombie drama series retained its title until recently, when “Better Call Saul” set the new record. “Fear the Walking Dead,” which has already been renewed for a 15-episode Season 2, stars Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam-Carey as series regulars.
ABC has announced its next “Bachelor.” Having been a favorite since the race for “The Bachelor” Season 20 began, Ben Higgins, who was vying for Kaitlyn Bristowe’s attention on “The Bachelorette” Season 11, has officially been cast as the star for the upcoming installment of the reality dating show. Host Chris Harrison revealed the news during Sunday’s episode of “After Paradise.” “It’s incredible. I think people like me don’t get opportunities like this,” Ben said of his new gig. “I never would have thought this opportunity would be something I could have, but I’m excited. Everything leading up to this has been incredible.”
