Jared Fogle won't be eating Subway for a long, long time. He's just been sentenced to 15 years in prison.
A federal judge in Indiana handed down the harsh sentence today (Thursday) after prosecutors and Fogle's lawyers submitted a plea deal. The deal called for him to get between five and 12-and-a-half years, but the judge wasn't bound by that. Nonetheless, Fogle pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography and having sex with a minor.
Federal law requires convicts to serve at least 85 percent of their sentences, so Fogle will be in prison for more than 13 years, at minimum.

Jennifer Lawrence is an Oscar-winning actress who might be known as much for her embarrassing trips and falls as she is for her acting.
Last night on the Tonight Show, the star of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 decided to reveal what she says is her most embarrassing moment ever. It happened at a restaurant in Paris where she spotted director Francis Ford Coppola dining with friends. She says she was very anxious to meet him, so she walked over and introduced herself, But when she returned to her table, she realized that her dress was unzipped in the back and her entire butt was exposed to the legendary director and his guests.

Justin Timberlake is a hands-on dad, helping wife Jessica Biel with everything about their seven-month old son, including changing diapers.

"I've never slept less and dealt with more poop, and been so excited about it," the singer told “People” magazine.

During a visit with Jimmy Fallon last September, when Silas was only five months old, he told his pal, "It is the most insanely amazing, most beautiful, unbelievable thing that can ever happen to you"

Calvin and Hobbes were only together in newspapers for 10 years, but fans made sure to spread the news that yesterday was the cartoon’s 30 year anniversary.

In the first comic strip about the two unlikely associates, Calvin used a tuna fish sandwich to catch Hobbes in a tiger trap. One would think Hobbes would have learned from that experience! Nevertheless, it caught the heart of a devoted group of fans who can still quote chapter and verse of some of the comic strips today.

The creator behind the strip is Bill Watterson, who published the first one on Nov. 18, 1985. He drew the delightful characters for ten years. Watterson named his cast members after Protestant reformer John Calvin and the philosopher Thomas Hobbes.

Bill Watterson drew “Calvin and Hobbes” for the next decade, giving life to six-year-old Calvin and his tiger friend Hobbes—named after the Protestant reformer John Calvin and the philosopher Thomas Hobbes. It ran in some 2,000 newspapers before Watterson pulled the comic after becoming tired of the constant deadlines.

Throughout the entire 10 years, Watterson never allowed the comic to be used in any commercial form to sell merchandise. There were also several book collections of the comics.

It can be really hard sometimes to hail a cab in New York City. So hard, in fact, that it's actually easier to steal one.
A 27-year-old woman, in town from Los Angeles, was arrested Tuesday night after she climbed into the driver's seat of a taxi and drove off. Cops say Kinga Tabares capped off a wild night of drinking with friends by drunkenly hopping into the backseat of the yellow cab. But she wasn't there long, because while the driver was outside the car, she climbed behind the wheel and took off.
When cops eventually caught up to her, she smelled of alcohol, slurred her speech and vomited. She was arrested and charged with grand larceny, unauthorized use of a vehicle, DWI and refusal to take a blood alcohol test.

A Pennsylvania woman had quite a day last Saturday, getting drunk and crashing her car, not once, but twice.
47-year-old Michele Leonard was arrested after she crashed her car around 5 p.m. Her blood-alcohol level was tested and she was later released. Police say she walked out of the police station and paid someone $3 to take her to her banged-up car. When she returned to her car, she got in and drove off. At around 6 p.m., she sideswiped a parked car and then crashed into a shed.
Cops arrested her again and charges will be filed when the results of both of her blood-alcohol tests come back.

A local politician who pushed to cut costs by getting rid of public toilets is probably wishing he hadn't done that now.
Jackie Burns, a councilman in a town in Scotland, thought getting rid of the public restrooms was a good way to cut costs in the town. He's regretting it now because he recently felt the urge to go and there were no bathrooms around. So he ducked into an alley and relieved himself in full view of a police officer who ticketed him for public urination.
Burns paid the $60 fine and said, "I am embarrassed by the incident and have apologized." He might want to rethink his decision to do away with the public toilets.

The NBA legend, who famously revealed his HIV diagnosis in 1991, is calling on Sheen to join him in raising awareness of the disease. He tweeted, "I wish Charlie Sheen and his family the best. With the advancement in treatments and medicine he can fight this disease and live a long life." He later added, "In Charlie Sheen breaking his silence, I hope he joins me in educating the world about HIV/AIDS."

Following his own HIV announcement almost 25 years ago, Magic launched the Magic Johnson Foundation which works to develop programs and support community organizations that address the educational and health needs of people in urban areas.

Michael Lohan was rushed to the hospital earlier today after suffering a possible heart attack.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ Lohan was at a Florida Department of Children and Families office for a 3-hour monitored visit with his kids. We're told he began to sweat profusely and experience chest pains, so DCF agents called 911.

One source tells us he's on heart meds and when he started getting sick his mom was called and she was rushing his medication over, but his condition worsened.
Docs are running tests to see if he suffered a heart attack.

Coincidentally Michael's due in court today where a judge will decide the custody arrangement for the two kids he shares with Kate Major.

Glen Campbell isn't making any more music, but his legacy lives on.
Glen's fans got to know Ashley Campbell during her dad's acclaimed Goodbye Tour. Her banjo playing and backup vocals caught a lot of attention, as did her good looks. Now with her father retired and in the final stages of Alzheimer's, she's written and released her first single.
"Remembering" is a country-bluegrass song spanning happy childhood memories to the poignancy of watching her father's memory loss deprive her of the father she knew and adored. The video is especially poignant, interspersing family videos of Ashley and Glen from her childhood, and on tour.
The chorus goes: "Bone for bone we are the same / Bones get tired and they can’t carry all the weight / We can talk until you can’t even remember my name / Daddy don’t you worry, I’ll do the remembering."

Lee Brice has made history -- he's the only country artist to have played all 50 states in less than a year. He finished the feat last night (Sunday) with a show in Rome, Georgia.
He says, "I'm so excited about this. As soon as I realized how close we were, I just had to make it happen."
Earlier this year, when Lee realized that he had performed in almost every state, he had his tour manager ramp things up so he could finish setting the record this year. Lee is expected to go on his own headlining tour in 2016.

They'll wrap things up at the Hollywood Bowl on October 10th. And if you are wondering, there IS a stop in Nashville on August 17th at Bridgestone Arena..

A Massachusetts woman who belongs to the fictional Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster has won her fight for the right to wear a pasta strainer on her head in her driver's license photo.
Lindsay Miller of Lowell, Massachusetts argued that it was her religious right to express her beliefs by wearing the colander, which is the religious symbol that she and other "Pastafarians" have adopted. Massachusetts permits head coverings in license photos only for religious beliefs, and had no choice but to allow Miller to wear hers.
Miller is the fifth "Pastafarian" in the country to win the right to wear a colander in a driver's license photo.

A town in England has called in an army of bagpipes to combat a homeless problem at a bus station.
Dozens of homeless men and women have taken a liking to the bus station in Bournemouth. They use the restrooms and sleep inside the station, but their presence has caused a lot of problems. People have complained about them trying to intimidate passersby and also verbally abusing women as they walk by. So the town started blasting bagpipe music at night to drive them from the station and so far it appears to be working. One station worker says, "They just cannot stand it, you try getting any sleep with that going on."
But the unusual method has drawn some criticism from people who argue that all it does is send them to other areas and does nothing to actually help them.

An Indianapolis man is dead and his father is in jail after the son went crazy over receiving only one biscuit for breakfast.

Police say Fred Fleener the Fourth got angry when he asked for biscuits and gravy and he got only one biscuit. He started attacking his sister and his disabled cousin, so his father, Fred Fleener the Third, stepped in to break up the fight and ended up shooting his son in the chest.

The sister says her brother had mental problems and had stopped taking his medication. She adds that her father is not a killer and just snapped because "somebody can only handle so much at a time." The father was arrested and charged with killing his son.

Steve Harvey is being sued by a private jet company who claims the funnyman ordered hundreds of thousands of dollars in custom modifications and then stiffed them on the payment.
Business Aircraft Leasing claims the comedian and host of Family Feud agreed to lease the private jet but ordered more than $400,000 in modifications to the interior. The company says the deal was for him to pay half of the cost. But they claim after the work was all done, Harvey decided not to lease the jet and walked away from the deal. They're demanding that he pay them at least $205,000. Harvey has not commented on the lawsuit.

Some writers whine about bad reviews, but one British author decided to take another approach -- by smashing a bottle of wine over the head of a stranger who dissed one of his books.
Richard Brittain posted his tale The World Rose on Wattpad, an app where amateur writers submit their stuff and others review it. Typically, he began engaging reviewers, thanking fans and arguing with haters. But he just couldn't abide a one-star review penned by teenager Paige Rolland -- so he tracked her down through Facebook, traveled 500 miles to Scotland, went to the supermarket where the young woman works and cold-cocked her with a wine bottle, knocking her unconscious.
Rolland wasn't badly hurt, and Brittain was sentenced to anger management. He agrees that what he did was “deluded and creepy,” and says that he’s “now getting treatment.”

A Louisiana man is sporting a bright shine and a clean undercarriage after he got stuck in a large spinning brush inside a car wash.
Josh Hood, the manager of the Pitstop Carwash, was hosing down the inside of the car wash when his hose got tangled up in one of the large brushes and spun him around for a good 20 seconds before a co-worker turned it off. The accident was captured on surveillance camera and, at first, looks a bit scary. But Hood was not seriously injured, so now we can all watch the video and laugh about it because it's pretty hilarious.

A Florida woman cracked under intense police questioning about a shoplifting incident -- then admitted her own crack was stuffed with illegal prescription drugs.
Ginger Cooper tried to sneak out of a Wal-Mart by pretending to scan a number of items at a self-checkout, but got spotted by security guards who detained her until cops could arrive. Once they did, the 28-year-old got panicky and confessed that she'd been carrying a baggie filled with Xanax pills in her buttocks "for a friend."
After being escorted to the police station, Cooper turned pooper and expelled the baggie -- earning herself charges of possession of a controlled substance as well as shoplifting.

The Beverly Hills, 90210 actor suffered a concussion in the accident this week and was hospitalized overnight.

He advised I take a few days off as I had suffered a concussion... But I am definitely on the mend and looking forward to getting back to work with all the wonderful people on The Code."

A South Carolina couple has been put on ice after calling 911 to complain about a problem with their refrigerator – namely, that possums and strange people kept jumping out of it to attack them.
Brandon Terry and Casey Fowler dialed the emergency number several times on Sunday, telling the dispatcher that they were doing their best to fend off the creatures, but insisted they needed help. When an officer was dispatched to the scene, Terry said they'd been having problems all weekend, insisting he had photos of worms and camouflaged people coming out of the floor of their car. But when the deputy asked to see the pics, Terry showed him photos of a basketball goal and tree instead.
Terry went on to explain that the cop would not be able to see the possums or people in the fridge, because he and Fowler were the only ones who could see them. Both were charged with misuse of 911 and taken in for observation for possible drug overdoses.

A Michigan fisherman now has a great story to tell about his big catch.
Andre Monterio was fishing on Lake Michigan when he felt a pull on his line. As he reeled in, the fish fell off the hook, but there was something else on the line -- a digital camera. Monterio was understandably surprised by the catch and even more curious about what might be on the camera. So he took out the memory card, which was still intact, and plugged it into his computer. A file opened up displaying photos from a fishing trip back in 2013.
One of the photos was labelled "Mike's Family Pharmacy," so Monterio looked up the business, which is located in Montague, Michigan, and told them he had found the camera. It turns out the camera was accidentally dropped off a charter boat during a fishing trip in August 2013. The camera and memory cards have been returned to the rightful, and grateful, owner.

The Indonesian government is considering a plan to build an island prison for the country's worst drug offenders -- and to use crocodiles to guard it.
Drug offenders are punished severely in Indonesia and many are sitting on death row awaiting execution. The head of the government's anti-drug agency has proposed a plan to build a prison on an island to house these inmates, and then surround the island with crocodiles to ensure that none of them are able to escape.
The agency chief, Budi Waseso, says, "We will place as many crocodiles as we can there. I will search for the most ferocious type of crocodile." He says the crocodiles would be make effective guards because they can't be bribed by prisoners, unlike human guards.
The plan is still in its early stages and there is no time frame for when the crocodile prison will be built.
